RECRUITING NOW: Packing Shed Supervisor
About the role:
We are currently recruiting for Packing Shed Supervisor, for a large grape grower in South Australia. They have a newly constructed packing shed near Loxton, that incorporates a state-of-the-art packing line and cold storage infrastructure, all aimed at delivering premium quality table grapes to their customers around the world.
The Packing Shed Supervisor will oversee the packing, cold storage, and dispatch processes and ensure all orders are packed to the highest quality, in line with customer specifications, and dispatched on time.
Duties include:
Comply with all relevant workplace health and safety, environmental, and food safety regulations, while maintaining high-quality standards.
Manage daily production output by supervising packing shed tasks and monitoring the competency and performance of workers
Analyse performance metrics and train the packing shed workers to achieve performance targets
Ensure packing shed and production line equipment are serviced and maintained to minimise downtime
Monitor and maintain packing shed cleanliness adhering to all food safety, Freshcare, HARPs, HACCP, and export protocol requirements
Ensure batch coding and inventory management systems are in place and operating effectively
Experience:
Experience in a similar role supervising a production line handling fruits, vegetables, or other agricultural produce or significant experience in produce packing
Strong commitment to Workplace Health & Safety (‘WHS’)
Extremely organised leader and a team player who can manage large diverse teams of various cultural backgrounds
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
Excellent knowledge and understanding of food safety and quality standards
Ability to maintain very high work standards with strong attention to detail
Intermediate computer skills and ability to use packing shed software systems.
Salary:
An attractive salary of between $75,000 to $80,000 per year, is on offer for the right candidate.
